Our roots trace back to Central Texas, where Wade Dakan, a young man studying at Baylor, began working under builder Glen Screws in Waco, Texas. What started as a mentor-mentee relationship quickly evolved into something deeper — a lifelong friendship grounded in trust, craftsmanship, and shared values. Over time, Wade became like a son to Glen, and their bond extended well beyond the job site.
Today, that legacy lives on through Glen’s son, Drake Screws, who proudly carries forward his father’s commitment to precision, integrity, and uncompromising quality. Together, Drake and Wade have built Screws + Dakan Builders into a continuation of what began decades ago — a family-first custom homebuilding firm, grounded in tradition but designed for the future.
